Hourly deep clean, post-construction and add-ons

The hourly deep clean is $100 an hour with a 5-hour minimum, so the smallest booking is $500 before tax. Each extra hour adds $100. It fits homes where you want to set the priorities yourself instead of paying a flat price by room count.
Post-construction cleaning
Post-construction cleaning is $0.375 per square foot, which is $375 for every 1,000 square feet. A 2,000-square-foot home comes to $750 before tax.
Add-ons
Add-ons cost less when you book them with a recurring clean. The recurring price applies to weekly, bi-weekly and monthly visits. The one-time price applies to deep, move-in/move-out, hourly and post-construction cleans.

What changes the price
Five things set your total: bedrooms and bathrooms, how often we come, the type of clean, any add-ons, and the 6.35% state sales tax.
- Bedrooms and bathrooms: these pick your row in the table. A 3-bed home with three bathrooms instead of two costs $10 more per weekly visit and $20 more for a deep clean.
- How often we come: weekly has the lowest price per visit and monthly the highest, since more builds up in a month than in a week. For a 3-bed, 2-bath home that is $150 a visit weekly and $240 a visit monthly. Over four weeks, weekly service costs $600, bi-weekly $340 and monthly $240.
- Type of clean: a deep clean costs more than a routine visit because it goes into more detail. A move-in/move-out clean is priced for an empty home and costs $20 less than a deep clean in every row of the table.
- Add-ons: fridge, oven, cabinets, a finished basement and interior windows are priced separately, as listed above.
- Square footage or hours: post-construction jobs are priced by square foot and the hourly deep clean by the hour, not by room count.
How Connecticut sales tax applies to house cleaning
Connecticut charges its 6.35% sales tax on house cleaning done by a cleaning business, so our quote tool adds it as its own line. For example, a $380 deep clean plus $24.13 in tax comes to $404.13.
The Department of Revenue Services lists janitorial services among the services subject to sales and use tax. The state regulation defines janitorial services as cleaning the interior or exterior of "buildings, structures or dwellings," so homes are included. The rate is the state's general 6.35% sales tax rate.
The regulation has two narrow exceptions: an individual who is not otherwise in the cleaning business and cleans three or fewer homes a year, and a housekeeper the homeowner employs directly for wages.
